EDUCATOR RESOURCES

Educator Resources

Make a visit to the Antelope County Museum part of your school curriculum. The museum’s school program can be tailored to your class’s educational needs and is especially beneficial for students studying early Nebraska History. Besides the main museum building, we also have the one-room school house, pioneer log cabin, and St Peter’s Episcopal Church.

The museum complex has a small park area that is an excellent place to have a sack lunch or picnic.

Set Up Your Schoolhouse Tour

  • 45 to 60-minute tour of schoolhouse with activity.
  • Special Session on Nebraska History in District 70 schoolhouse for 4th Graders.
  • Full Day Experience. Arrive at the schoolhouse about 9:30 A.M. Dismiss at 2:45 P.M. Students will re-live some of District 70’s past history as they experience a regular school day in a country school setting starting with Pledge, Patriotic song, Hygiene Check, Penmanship, Recess, Reading, English/Language/Spelling, Lunch (bring lunchbox or sack lunch), Teacher Reads, Social Studies/History/Geo, and Math/Arithmetic. How was school changed from the time it was built in 1915 to the 1940s, 50s, 60’s, 70s, & 80s?
